Home Hospitality for 2010 World Equestrian Games             Updated 7/24/2010

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington KY will offer   home hospitality to visiting UUs and friends at reasonable prices during the World Equestrian Games, which will take place Sept. 25 through Oct. 10, 2010.     All proceeds will benefit our congregation, but are not tax deductible since you are getting a place to stay.    Diversity welcome!

We encourage you to look though our Featured Listings below.  Each listing includes a contact, usually the host, who can provide any additional details.  We hope to have more listings online soon. 

We have advertised B & B accommodations, and many of our hosts offer them.  We also have some hosts offering an entire house or apartment for rent. 

A nonrefundable deposit, usually 50% of the cost, is required to reserve a space.  Confirmation includes an information packet with maps and listing of WEG events.  Deposits can be paid in either of two ways:

      By snail mailing a check to the UU Church of Lexington, 3564 Clays Mill Rd., Lexington KY 40503.

At the time you send your deposit, please also call or email the contact person for the listing.

Host A.  B & B only

Dates Available:  Sept. 24 - Oct. 11.  May select any number of days.  2 days minimum.

Accommodations:  1 bedroom with double bed and bath. 

Details:  Adjacent to park with lake, paddle boats, and golf course.  Close to shopping, restaurants, bicycle shop, and library.  Convenient to downtown.

Costs:  (All proceeds benefit UUCL.)

                 $125 per day for 2 guests

                 $100 per day for 1 guest.

Dates Available:  Sept. 24, 25, 26, Oct. 1, 2, 3, and Oct. 8, 9, 10.  May select any or all of these weekends.  2 days minimum. 

Accommodations:  One bedroom with double bed and bathroom.  One or two guests.

Details:  Gourmet breakfast included.  Central location.  Close to mall, natural food coop and restaurant, and airport.  Convenient to downtown.

                 $125 per day for 2 guests.

                 $100 per day for 1 guest.

Accommodations:  One bedroom with double bed, and private bathroom. Can accommodate up to 3 children on futons in adjoining family room. Located on lower level of home, not w/c accessible.

Details:  Continental breakfast included; and wifi internet. Conveniently located; minutes from airport, downtown, walk to restaurants, shopping area.

Host D.   B & B OR rent the whole house.

Dates Available:  Sept. 25 - Oct. 10

Accommodations:  Spacious house with 4 bedrooms, living room with cathedral ceilings, dining room. Master BR has full bath, plus another bathroom upstairs and a half-bath down. Laundry room, enclosed backyard, dining room and full kitchen as well as breakfast area and wifi and cable.

Details: Rent the whole house, or B & B available. 
              North side of town, very close to Horse Park and WEG events.

Note:  The child-friendly bedroom pictured on the right  has a double bed and can easily be made more adult-friendly if guests desire.

Accommodations:  2 Bedroom Cottage on a working sheep farm.  Full bath and kitchen included.  (Rent the house.  B & B not available)

Details:    Located about one hour from the Horse Park.

           $250 per night, for the whole house.

Host G.  Rent entire "apartment", (half the home), only.

Accommodations:  Rent an apartment that is "half" the house.  Two bedrooms, one bath, and full kitchen.  B & B is not available.

Details:   One bedroom has twin beds, the other has a full bed.  Access to backyard with deck.  Also has a baby grand piano.

           Entire apartment is $225 per night.

Accommodations:  One bedroom with queen bed and private bath OR one bedroom with single bed and private bath.  

Details:   Hostess is am very involved in WEG and so breakfast may occasionally be available in kitchen on a "help yourself" basis. Located in the country 25 min. from the KY Horse Park and have two horses. Non-smokers only. You are free to use family room, living room, and back porch as well.

Costs:  (All proceeds benefit UUCL.)

            Double room: $75 per night, including breakfast    

            Single room: $50 per night including breakfast.

Details:    Quiet house and neighborhood.  No TV.

                 $100 for one person.

                 $ 125 for two people.
