There are many activities we do at the Unitarian Universalist Church
of Lexington mainly for fun and fellowship, (and in many
cases, food)!
If you are interested in combining fun and fellowship with
serving our church, please see a list of some of our
Church committees.
The activities of our church are dynamic, so that any attempt to
capture them all on a website is difficult. However, here are some of
them that occur on a regular basis. Times may fluctuate, so check
our newsletter, the
Uniview, for details. This is especially important
during the summer months, when some groups may take a month or two off.
You may also
send an
email to the church requesting more information about
any of these activities.
1st Sunday Potluck
On the 1st Sunday of each month, the church has a potluck in
the Great Hall immediately following the service. Everyone attending should
bring a dish which will feed 8 people, and everything is welcome from
salads, veggies, entrees to desserts. All dishes, utensils and beverages
are supplied. This is a well attended event where we all socialize and
relax together and enjoy some incredible foods!
1st Friday Bridge
Bridge players of all levels are invited to join together for 2 or 3 tables
of bridge at 7:00pm on the first Friday of each month. The skill levels of
the players extend from one extreme to the other so you don't have to
be an expert to enjoy yourself.
Each player is asked to bring a small munchie to share.
Moms' Group
The UUCL Moms' Group was established in 2002. We meet monthly (primarily
at UUCL) for fun and friendship and to share the joys and challenges of
motherhood. The group is open and new members are welcome at any time.
Simple Living Dinner
We offer a simple supper from 5:30 to 6:30 on most Wednesday evenings.
The cost is $6 person, ($2 for children under 10). Reservations are
encouraged. Desserts are available separately for $2.
UU Men's Night Out
1st Tuesday of each month, 7:00pm at Marikka's Bier Stube (411 Southland
Drive). All UU men are invited to our regular evenings of fellowship,
darts, billiards, and of course, Marikka's incredible selection of beers!
The entrance is to the left of the restaurant.
UU Women Dining Out
All women invited! Come join us once a month for a relaxing and enjoyable time.
Dinners for Six
Dinners for Six is an opportunity to meet and greet your fellow UU's while
you enjoy a wonderful dinner at the home of one of our members. Each person
who signs up for Dinners for Six will host dinner at their house one time
during the season (twice for a couple), October to May. Guest lists are
randomly generated so you will have the maximum opportunity to meet new
people.
Camp Lack-a-Dogma
Camp Lack-a-Dogma is an annual weekend event held at Cathedral
Domain campground in central Kentucky, a beautiful wooded setting
with multiple cabins and central meeting and dining facilities. The weekend
is filled with educational, theological, environmental and other intriguing
classes and seminars, group activities, and free time for everyone to
visit or enjoy the surrounding scenery.
