Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington, KY

Our Great Hall

Our church is unique. When it was being built in 1965 it was described as a “spaceship on a hill.” It was designed by noted architect Herb Greene.  The Great Hall (sanctuary) is a large round room, under a dome. Windows at the bottom of the dome allow us to look at the grounds. Classrooms were initially in the lower level, under the sanctuary, until we added a large administrative and classroom wing in 1998.

As our church membership increased, we quickly outgrew the original building. The newer wing, built in 1998, houses our Fellowship Hall for meetings, social events and coffee hour, as well as classrooms and the church offices.
