Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington

Current and Upcoming Lifespan Learning Classes.  Updated 7/7/2011.

General Information

At UUCL, we strive to offer Lifespan Learning experiences that will help people improve their lives, learn together, grow in spirit, and build our community. Most of our "adult" classes are suitable for teenagers who are interested in learning and participating in the class. Many of these classes and groups are free of charge. If there is a fee, it is included in the description. If the cost is an issue for you, scholarships may be available.  For most classes you receive the most benefit if you attend regularly.

To Register for a Class

Unless a specific contact person is listed, contact Stacey Stone at uucldre@uucl.org. It is important to SIGN UP for classes so that we can prepare and send you updates. If not enough people are interested in any given class, we may need to cancel.
Child care is provided on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm and for some other times. When you sign up for a class, please specify if child care is needed and the ages of the children.

Current Classes

Beginning Poi Class.  Tues. Nights, 7:30-8:15 pm in the Great Hall.  Poi Spinning is a form of movement art using a pair of weighted cords. Its origins lie in the Maori culture of New Zealand. There are many reasons to spin Poi. It will increase your concentration and spatial awareness; help you to become more flexible and give your muscles a workout, and create a sense of balance within. The best reason is that it is great FUN! All are welcome (kids under 12 yrs. old need a parent present). Begins on Dec. 13.  Cost for the entire 6 session course is $25, and includes a set of practice poi.  (No class on Dec. 27.)

Upcoming Classes

Currently none.  We hope to start several soon
